More about
In the first week of September 2023, a group of 12 Bulgarian youths (students and university attendees) was selected from all participants of the Apollonian Seminar 23 in Sozopol. Each participant held the status of a scholarship recipient from the Ognian Radev Foundation, allowing them to participate freely in training on the preservation and management of cultural monuments. This training was conducted under a bilateral agreement between the Ephorate of Antiquities in Athens and the foundation. After one week of intensive theoretical and practical activities around Athens, the group of foundation scholars became the first Bulgarians ever to have the opportunity to undergo this experience with the Ephorate of Antiquities in Athens.
The program included discussions, visits, and presentations by top archaeologists, restorers, museum workers, and marketing designers working in the Greek capital, as well as independent research tasks, debates, and SWOT analyses in the field of cultural heritage management and development. The entire initiative culminated in an official ceremony attended by representatives of the Ephorate of Antiquities and the Bulgarian Embassy in Athens. The organization and funding for the group’s scholarships were entirely covered by private donors and partners of the foundation. This historic first encounter was also covered on the websites of the Bulgarian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and *Sega*.
